Portobello Burgers

YUMMMMM, pretty much anything goes with these burgers. Using the portobello mushrooms as the bun offers a nice alternative to bread, as well as a unique, mouth watering taste. Add your favourite vegetable just as you would with any burger, avocados add a little something extra tot the taste as well.

If your not going "paleo", are vegan/vegetarian, or just looking for a meat free substitution, keep the bread buns and sub the meat for the mushrooms, still are just as amazing!

1.3kgs of Mince

3x Large Eggs

2x Cloves garlic, mince,

Freshly ground pepper to taste

8-12 Large portobello mushrooms

2x Tablespoons olive oil

Place ground beef in a bowl and mix with eggs. Add in the garlic and season lightly with peper (also add in any other seasoning you may enjoy from the your cupboard). Form 6 to 8 patties that are smaller that the mushroom caps.

Put on a preheated grill and cook each side for about 5-7 minutes. Rinse mushrooms and pat try, remove mushroom stems.

Coat the caps in olive oil and then season with pepper. Do not let the oil penetrate for long to keep the mushrooms from getting soggy.

Place on preheated grill and cook on each side for about 5-7 minutes. Add cooked mince patties and top with any vegetables you love!

Ideas - Baby spinach leaves, tomatoes, cucumbers, grated carrots, beetroot, gurkins, avocados, bacon, onions :)
